A viral video shows someone trying to make a fireproof shield using pineapple skin.
Before we continue, please do not try to do this at home as it is obviously extremely dangerous.

If you must expose pineapples to extreme heat in your home then do it on the grill as a part of some delicious tacos al pastor, NOT as a flamethrower shield.
Leave pulling off Jackass-level stunts to the professionals and the YouTubers.
With that out of the way, we can take a look at the remarkable qualities that pineapples seem to possess.
They might be more widely known as the fruits that eats, but it seems that making your mouth itch as its enzymes eat away at your flesh is not the only quality that pineapple has.
A viral video begins with Instagram influencer @tylercsatari placing a white hot metal ball on the pineapple skin.
To the shock of viewers the ball does not burn through the pineapple, which gave the influencer an idea.

He then described how he cut out a wooden frame using a laser machine to create the perfect shape,
After getting the shape of his shield, he then thickly sliced the skins off several pineapples before stapling it to the front.
Him and his assistant then fire up their flamethrower, that they presumably just had hanging around for some reason, and set about seeing if the shield would work.
They started by placing a balloon behind the shield to see if it would survive the heat, because as everyone knows balloons and human flesh are basically exactly the same.
The balloons, of course, popped, but that didn’t deter our devil-may-care streamer from holding out the shield as a blue flame was blasted onto the pineapple skins.

Happily, it seems that the pineapple skin very much did its job and the streamer did not have to be rushed to hospital with third-degree burns.
People were stunned by the success, with one writing: “Oh my goodness that’s amazing,” while another said: “Nature has a solution for everything.”
A third person joked: “Dragons hate this one simple trick!”
