Jake Paul says he will fight for Team USA at the 2028 Olympics

“I’m sick and tired of waiting for another gold for Team USA, so I’m gonna do it.”

Jake Paul has said he will fight in the boxing for Team USA at the 2028 Olympics.

Taking place in Los Angeles, the YouTube star and internet personality has said he is “sick and tired of waiting for another gold for Team USA.”

In a post on X the 27-year-old said: “I’m going to enter. I’m sick and tired of waiting for another gold for Team USA. I’m gonna do it, why not?

“2028, Olympics, you heard it here first, gold medal.”

Paul turned a professional boxer in 2020 and has won 10 of his 11 fights with seven by knockout.

His only loss came to Tommy Fury in February of last year.

Team USA have not won a gold medal in men’s Olympic boxing since 2004 with Andre Ward, despite their legacy in the event, counting the most medal of all time in Olympic boxing with 50 golds.

However, Paul might be disappointed to get to the 2028 LA Olympics to discover boxing might not even be on the schedule at all.

President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, explained that boxing is yet to be confirmed as an event at LA 2028 after an on going feud between the IBA and the IOC.

The boxing competition at Paris 2024 is being run by the IOC after they stripped the IBA of the responsibility after its failure to implement reforms on governance and finance.
