Snow White actor Rachel Zegler posts savage response to death threat on Twitter

Rachel Zegler had some clever words to say

Rachel Zegler has had enough of the unabashed hate.

The 23-year-old actor has been facing what seems like non-stop criticism since her casting as Snow White in Disney‘s upcoming live-action film, with some fans taking offense to comments she made about the original 1937 movie.

Amid the backlash, Zegler – who has also starred in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and Shazam! – hasn’t shied away from responding to trolls when necessary and most recently had a few savage words to say to a user who sent her a death threat on Twitter.

In a tweet that’s since been removed by Twitter for violating its guidelines, a user commented on a picture of Zegler writing: “Someone should kill you.”

Zegler, who’s slated to star as Juliet in an upcoming revival of Romeo and Juliet on Broadway, replied: “Fun fact I will be dying eight times a week on Broadway this fall!!!!!! Get your tickets, lee [the user’s handle]! Also @/FBI.”

Her tweet evidently played on Juliet’s fate in the Shakespeare play and fans of Zegler have duly noted her clever reply.

“Promo queen,” one user on Twitter wrote.

Another added: “God , you’re such a champ. I’m so sorry how you keep getting this kind of hateful garbage, but you’re handling it like a total queen.”

Zegler is starring alongside Heartstopper star Kit Connor in the upcoming revival which is directed by Sam Gold and features music written by Jack Antonoff (a frequent collaborator of Taylor Swift‘s).

Meanwhile Disney unveiled the first official trailer for the live-action Snow White during its D23 expo on Friday (August 9).

In it, Zegler can be seen singing the film’s well-loved track ‘Whistle While You Work’ as she dances around with the seven dwarves.

The trailer ends on a biting note as Snow White reaches out for the apple that we all know too well.

The film is set to be released in theaters on March 21, 2025.
