After Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello shared different perspectives on the reason behind their divorce, the Modern Family actress reacted to her ex-husband’s statements.

After the America’s Got Talent star previously said the couple’s divorce after nine years of marriage stemmed from her not wanting to be an “old mom,” her ex Joe subsequently responded saying her reasoning was “not true.”
Despite their contradictions, Sofía maintains an indifferent opinion on the matter.
“At the end of the day, you never even know if that’s what he said for real,” she explained to Variety in a profile published Aug. 14. “I’ve read a lot of things that I’ve said that I’m like, ‘Huh?’ What am I gonna do, call him? I don’t know if he even said that.”
But the 52-year-old still stands by what she said. After all, the Modern Family actress—who has a 32-year-old son, Manolo, from a previous marriage to Joe Gonzalez—recently shared that opening up about the former couple’s disagreement over children was “empowering.”
“There’s things in life that might sound like good ideas, but they’re not,” she told People in May. “I was a mother already. I know what it means to be a good mother or to try to be the best mother that you can, and that takes a lot of sacrifices, takes a lot of energy.”
And while Joe—who is currently dating Caitlin O’Connor—pushed back on his ex’s claims, he recently admitted that he still plans to have a kid.
“It’s something that’s definitely on the docket,” he said on the Podcrushed podcast last month. “At some point.”
In fact, Joe hinted that having kids may have—at one point—been in the plans for him and Sofía.

“At every stage in life that was always something that was always talked about,” he added. “That was always on the forefront of any serious relationship that I got into.”
