The Florida couple were enjoying their monthly date night before they were ambushed
Doorbell footage captured the terrifying moment a couple were ambushed and shot outside their own home after winning big at the casino.
Kim Chambliss and her boyfriend, Val Delacruz, were enjoying their monthly date night on August 1 when things took a horrific turn.
Warning: This video contains scenes which some viewers may find distressing.
After enjoying a fancy meal, Val decided to try his luck at the slot machines in the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
With the aim of trying to recoup the money he spent on the food and drink, luck was certainly on his side.
“We don’t get to do it often just because we both work extremely hard,” Chambliss told Fox 13.
“I hit and I got a jackpot. And, you know, I was dancing,” Delacruz added.
Rather than trying to risk it all for some extra dollars, Delacruz decided to cash out at an impressive $3,000 – that certainly covered dinner!
The couple then drove home, but little did they know they were being watched in the casino.
Investigators told how two men, now identified as Marcus Jenkins, 34, and Tristin Wright, 36, watched Chambliss and Delacruz for two hours before following them back to their house.

“I’m normally aware of my surroundings or would notice if someone was following me. But that night, we were in deep conversation,” Delacruz said.
As they arrived home, the two masked men allegedly surrounded the couple’s car and demanded they handed over the money.
The terrifying ordeal was captured on the couple’s Ring doorbell camera.
“I hear another gunshot and my first thought was ‘they’ve killed him.’ I was hysterical, I screamed and cried,” Chambliss recalled.
While Delacruz added: “I ran and I fell in the door and the other guy came out and shot me again for the third time in my left leg.”
The chilling footage shows Chambliss screaming before her boyfriend, who had been shot in the leg multiple times, pleads with the attackers as he lay on the ground.
One of the suspects then attempts to block the Ring doorbell camera before a neighbor appears and the two men make a run for it – with Delacruz’s watch and jewelry as well as Chambliss’ purse.

Chambliss added: “We’re just average people, you know, who are out having a good time, you know, who love each other and enjoying each other’s company.
“And to know that we didn’t even realize that people were following us every step of the way. It’s scary. It’s scary.”
Delacruz is now in constant pain as a result of his injuries, with doctors warning it could be six months before he is able to walk again.
Jenkins is facing a bunch of charges, including attempted murder in the first degree, robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery and felon in possession of a firearm.
Meanwhile, Wright is facing a slew of charges, including principal to aggravated battery, two counts of principal to attempted murder in the first degree, and two counts of robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon.
