She had to ‘release’ the cocaine ‘bullets’
Let’s be honest, we all watched enough daytime TV growing up to have an idea about some of the mad stuff that goes on at airport security.
We’ve seen the YouTube videos of people getting back from their travels with cases full of fruits or with random pills hidden in their hair or less TV-friendly body parts.
And in this case, a woman was arrested immediately at airport security after the staff took just one look at her X-ray. South Africa police received a tip-off that a person carrying drugs was on a flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil, set to land into OR Tambo International Airport Johannesburg.

So, when the 30-year-old arrived, she was arrested and the X-ray instantly revealed everything they needed to know as it detected objects in her stomach.
Under police guard, she then ‘released’ 68 ‘bullets’ of suspected cocaine which South African Police racked in a total weight of about 850g.
Brig Athlenda Mathe, national police spokesperson, said: “The team immediately intercepted the drug mule as she was making her way through immigration. She was immediately arrested, taken to a local hospital where a medical X-ray confirmed and detected foreign objects in her stomach. She has already released more than 60 bullets of suspected cocaine thus far. She is currently under police guard and custody.”
She added: “The value of the drugs cannot be determined at this stage as the process to release all suspected drugs from the suspects body may take some time.”
The woman is now set to appear in court on 25 September as she is charged with drug dealing and drug possession.

And General Fannie Masemola, national commissioner of South African Police Service, praised authorities as they plan to really crack down on the criminality at OR Tambo International Airport.
Masemola warned: “Our men and women in blue are hard at work intercepting hardened criminals. South Africa is not a playground for criminals and transnational organised crime. We are squeezing the space for criminals and leaving nothing to chance.”
Mathe also explained how this woman who seemingly swallowed all those ‘cocaine bullets’ is the 10th drug mule to be arrested at the South African airport in the last two months.
Across that time, over a whopping £560,000 worth of drugs have been seized.
Well, I’m just trying to remove the idea of a woman ‘releasing bullets’ of cocaine.
