Argentinian officials have explained what they discovered in Liam Payne’s hotel room.

The One Direction star passed away at the age of 31 after reportedly falling from the balcony of his third floor hotel room.

Yesterday (October 16) at around 5:00pm, police were called to the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Authorities were told by the hotel manager a man had fallen from the balcony of his room, confirmed to be that of 31-year-old Payne, who rose to fame as part of band One Direction on the British singing show The X-Factor.

Now, Buenos Aires police have stated what they discovered in his hotel room, as they explained alcohol and medicines such as clonazepam were discovered.

The drug is primarily used to help control epilepsy, as well as involuntary muscle spasms and even panic disorders.

The force, which has taken fingerprints from the room to be analyzed – as well as other items of evidence, described the scene as ‘total disorder’ with multiple things smashed in the room and medication scattered around the room.

On the floor below his hotel room, his body lay with whiskey, a mobile phone and a lighter beside it.

Police have previously said in a statement they were called over reports of an ‘aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol’.

Payne had been in the Argentinian capital as he attended the concert of his former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan, and was witnessed dancing at the gig, accompanied by girlfriend Kate Cassidy.

On Monday (October 14) Cassidy shared a video to her TikTok page of her trip from South America back to the US and explained the reason why she was leaving ahead of Payne.

In the clip she explained why she was leaving Liam in the country and why she was excited to get back home.

Speaking in the video, she said: “Travel back to Florida with me. I was so ready to leave.

“Honestly, I love South America but I hate staying in one place for too long and we were supposed to be there for like five days and it turned into two weeks and I was just like I need to go home.”
