Fans stunned by closest ever finish to 100m sprint

Fans are stunned by the closest ever finish to a 100m sprint at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Noah Lyles has just won what might be the tightest 100m finals of all time.

Both Lyles and Thompson clocked a time of 9.79 seconds, however, it was the small margins that made the difference.

Winning by 0.005 seconds there was almost nothing in it between the American Lyles and Kishane Thompson from Jamaica.A long wait preceded the race as well as followed it as everyone waited anxiously to see the results of the photo finish.

Eventually it was the outspoken Lyles who was awarded gold.

Twenty years have passed since America last won the 100m men’ sprint with Justin Gatlin back in Athens in 2004.

For perspective, the positions between 3rd and 8th were ran the fastest they ever have been in a 100m final.Whirlwind stuff!
