Bryce Dallas Howard stars as Claire Dearing in the popular film franchise
Bryce Dallas Howard claimed that she was paid substantially less than Chris Pratt for the Jurassic World trilogy.
In 2015, Bryce took to the big screen starring as Claire Dearing in the first instalment of the trilogy that breathed some much-needed life into the nearly extinct Jurassic Park franchise.
She starred opposite Chris Pratt, who played the lead of Owen Grady, and while the pair would go on to co-lead two more films, Chris was reportedly paid far more than Bryce.
In 2018, when the second film in the trilogy Fallen Kingdom was released, it was reported that Bryce had been paid $8 million, while her co-star Chris received $10 million.
While this seems like a pretty drastic pay gap, Bryce told Business Insider that the reports were actually inaccurate.
“The reports were so interesting because I was paid so much less than the reports even said, so much less,” she revealed.
And, that included the 2022 instalment Jurassic World Dominion which grossed over $1 billion worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing film that year.

Despite the movie making a pretty hefty profit, Bryce was still paid less than Chris because she signed a three-movie deal back in 2014.
She explained: “When I started negotiating for Jurassic, it was 2014, and it was a different world, and I was at a great disadvantage. And, unfortunately, you have to sign up for three movies, and so your deals are set.”
Bryce discussed the pay inequality with her co-star, Chris, who advocated for her to receive equal pay on earning opportunities that weren’t already limited by a binding contract.
She added: “What I will say is that Chris and I have discussed it, and whenever there was an opportunity to move the needle on stuff that hadn’t been already negotiated, like a game or a ride, he literally told me: ‘You guys don’t even have to do anything. I’m gonna do all the negotiating. We’re gonna be paid the same, and you don’t have to think about this, Bryce.'”

“I love him so much for doing that,” Bryce continued.
“I really do, because I’ve been paid more for those kinds of things than I ever was for the movie.”
UNILAD has previously approached Universal for comment on the matter.
Sadly Bryce’s experience is far from the only example of pay inequality.
Kirsten Dunst previously revealed that she was paid a heck of a lot less than Tobey Maguire for their 2004 movie Spider-Man 2.
Maguire was reportedly paid around $17 million (or possibly more, according to Dunst) to reprise his role of Peter Parker, while she received a $7 million pay check.
