Tom Cruise performed an incredible Mission Impossible-style stunt at the Olympics closing ceremony on Sunday but it seems viewers all had the same complaint.

It’s over… After 16 days of sporting shenanigans, the 2024 Paris Games have come to an end.

And what a 16 days it has been, eh?

From the controversy surrounding the opening ceremony and complaints about the Olympic Village to the boxing gender eligibility test row and a pole-vaulter’s penis ruining his chances of a medal, it’s certainly been jam-packed.

And the 2024 Olympics officially came to an end with the closing ceremony at the Stade de France on Sunday (August 11).

Cruise made quite the entrance after he leapt off the roof of the stadium in Paris.

It was all part of the official Olympic handover to Los Angeles, who will be hosting the 2028 Games.

The Hollywood actor abseiled off the Stade de France roof before landing on the pitch and picking up the Olympic flag from the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, and Team USA gymnast Simone Biles.

A pre-filmed clip was then played to those in the stadium and the many millions watching at home that saw Cruise make his way from Paris to the City of Angels.

The video saw 62-year-old fly over the Atlantic Ocean before skydiving out of a plane and raising the iconic Olympic flag on the Hollywood sign.

California’s Red Hot Chili Peppers soundtracked the pre-recorded clip.

The video was filmed back in March, with many people spotting Cruise at the time.

Locals believed it was for some kind of commercial, but it was instead filming for one of the biggest sporting events in the world.

While it was certainly an impressive Mission Impossible-style stunt, it appears Olympic viewers all had the same complaint.

Taking to Instagram, one person penned: “Doesn’t France have any celebrities. Seems to be all American.

A second added: “I sure hope the LA Olympics don’t look like the music they just showcased – embarrassing.”

While a third remarked: “Very um… American.”

However, others enjoyed the moment with one viewer writing: “Wow what a entry.”
